At the Texas Highway Rangers, we believe that service doesn’t require a paycheck, just purpose.
As a volunteer roadside assistance team operating across North Texas, we’ve spent the first half of 2025 doing what we do best: showing up.
From Dallas to Sherman, our Rangers have been actively working our US-75 Inspection Corridor, providing free help to stranded motorists, clearing roadway hazards, and performing proactive safety checks. Every mile we cover, every hazard we remove, every motorist we assist — it’s part of our commitment to making Texas highways just a little safer.
Here’s what we’ve accomplished from January to June 2025:
✅ 191 total calls for help answered
👀 94 motorist safety checks
🦺 22 safety escorts to safer locations off the highway
🔧 27 tire changes
💨 31 tires aired up
⚡ 18 jump starts
🛠️ 22 minor roadside repairs
🚨 15 push/pull/recovery assists
🚧 18 pieces of debris removed from active lanes
⛽ 1 emergency fuel delivery
🧊 4 bottles of water handed out in the Texas heat
These numbers represent more than just roadside assistance. They represent:
A parent who got home safely to their family
A young driver who didn’t have to stand alone on the shoulder
A road hazard cleared before it became a crash
A vehicle moved before it became a traffic jam
Every call tells a story. Sometimes it's a quick fix. Other times it's a longer stay, multiple services, or even just a conversation to reassure someone they’re not alone.
We are volunteers. Mechanics, public safety professionals, veterans, students. Texans from all walks of life with a shared mission: to serve, to respond, and to make a difference. There’s no fee, no red tape, and no catch. When we show up, it's because someone needed help, and that’s reason enough.
We don’t just respond to calls, we actively monitor our roadways. This proactive approach means we’re first to help, sometimes even before a driver knows they need us.
We're fueled by passion and powered by people. If you'd like to support our mission:

191 calls in 6 months. Hundreds of hours. Thousands of miles. Zero cost to the public.
It’s not about the numbers. It’s about what those numbers represent: Texans helping Texans. One mile at a time.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported the mission — and to every Ranger who answers the call, day or night.
Thank you Texans!
