We’re incredibly proud to share a major milestone in our journey: the Texas Highway Rangers is now an officially recognized
501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the State of Texas, effective as of July 3, 2025.
From the very beginning, we’ve been boots-on-the-ground, Texans helping Texans. No red tape, no fancy offices, just a volunteer team showing up when others are in need. Flat tire? We’re there. Out of gas? We’ve got you. Dead battery on a dark stretch of highway? You’re not alone. That’s been our heartbeat since day one, and that part will never change.
But this new chapter opens powerful doors for us.
Gaining 501(c)(3) status means we can now:
Apply for grants to upgrade our gear, improve safety equipment, and fund specialized training for our volunteers.
Accept tax-deductible donations, allowing individuals and businesses to support us while receiving a benefit in return.
Receive tax exemptions on purchases made for operational and emergency response equipment, so every dollar we raise goes even further.
In short, this status allows us to expand our impact and operate with greater sustainability, while staying true to our mission of serving without charge.
We didn’t form this organization to make headlines or collect praise. We did it because we believe no one should be left waiting on the side of the road. Our volunteers give their time, tools, and hearts to ensure that help is never out of reach, especially when it matters most.
This new nonprofit designation doesn’t change who we are. It simply strengthens the foundation we’ve already built and allows us to better support the people we serve, and the Rangers who serve them.
Now that we’re a recognized nonprofit, you’ll begin to see new donation options on our website, partnerships forming with local businesses, and increased transparency in how we track and report our assistance statistics, training milestones, and community outreach.
Whether it’s a grant for new safety lighting, a donation to help cover fuel costs, or a discounted service from a local vendor, every bit of support we gain is a tool to help more people, more efficiently.
If you believe in the mission of the Texas Highway Rangers, we invite you to stand with us.
You can donate, volunteer, or simply help spread the word. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer, more responsive Texas.
Thank you Texans!
